About Amira

Amira is an Egyptian-American immigration attorney barred in New York. Amira is also a member in good standing (although currently inactive) in the District of Columbia and Oregon. She is a graduate of the Washington College of Law at the American University. Prior to starting a career in law, Amira worked at the American University in Cairo working with students from around Egypt and the Middle East.

Amira is a solo practitioner currently practicing family-based immigration and humanitarian law. Previously, she worked as a supervising attorney at the Oregon Law Center, a staff attorney at Our Children’s Trust, and a senior staff attorney at the International Refugee Assistance Project.

Amira is the co-founder of Eshhad: Center for the Protection of Minorities, a nonprofit that tracked and documented sectarian violence in the Middle East. In this capacity, she has served as an expert witness for asylum cases.
